CATERPILLARS & LADYBIRDS ROOM
The children are placed within this room between 6 weeks and 15/18 months. They are the introduced to a world of new visual, auditory and tactile experiences, focusing on a babies' natural urge to use their senses and explore. The room is softly furnished which creates a homely, comfortable environment and the toys have been carefully selected to encourage babies to play and learn. The day is structured around your child’s individual daily home routine, however we do encourage a balance between stimulating and soothing activities throughout the day. Such activities involve painting, experimenting with materials and textures, sand and water play, puppets and story time, exploring body movements, movement to music and many more. To introduce the babies to various environments, they are also taken for regular walks to local parks and places of interest.
 

BUMBLE BEES & BUTTERFLIES ROOM
Between 15/18 months, the children then progress to the Bumble Bees and the Butterflies room, where they are introduced to a more structured day, offering more challenging activities and opportunities to develop their independence and individuality. However they are still heavily involved within play.
The layout of the room is set to have a relaxed home like atmosphere focusing on the child's various areas of development and the children are split into smaller sub-groups, each with a key worker. The morning involves free play, circle time, breakfast, structured activities, outdoor play and singing. The afternoon continues with lunch and quiet time, activities, a light tea, singing, outdoor play and free play. The activities involve; imaginary play, stories, music, construction toys, soft play, painting and sticking, sand and water play, basic number and language skills and many more.
 

DRAGONFLIES & GRASSHOPPERS ROOM
The final progression within the Nursery involves all 2 1/2 year olds moving into the room of the Dragonflies and the Grasshoppers. Children are encouraged to explore and use all areas and equipment within the room. The day involves a balance between play and structured activities that ensure the children are suitably challenged and prepared for their step into school and later life. The morning begins with free play and circle time, breakfast, structured activities and outdoor play. The afternoon follows with lunch, quiet time, outdoor play and activities, a light tea, stories, activities and free play. The activities include; jigsaws, construction, stories, basic number work, various painting techniques, themed imaginary play, dance, problem solving and many more.
The older children work on a cross curricular topic based structure, planned to involve all areas of learning and experiences in line with the Desirable Outcomes. This is communicated bilingually.
